Norman TaylorAttorney

Norman F. Taylor has built a strong reputation as both a top consumer law attorney and advocate for consumers' rights.

"As a lawyer, I thought I could right wrongs and help those who needed assistance," he said. "I could help people get a measure of justice."Years ago, Norman Taylor sat in a courtroom and observed a trial in progress. Invigorated by the experience, he changed the course of his college education and enrolled in law school.

In 1986 he both graduated and passed the California State Bar Exam. From there he opened a consumer law practice with an emphasis on warranty litigation. It grew quickly and by the early 1990s, he'd developed considerable expertise in the area of Lemon Law and established a reputation both with the courts and the auto industry as an expert.

Successful Litigation Since 1987

Norman Taylor and Associates are specialists in consumer law: elder abuse, medical malpractice, serious personal injury and Lemon Law.

He and his firms have handled more than 10,000 Lemon Law cases, forcing automakers to refund well over $120,000,000 for defective goods sold to their clients.

His team also has a history of recovering large verdicts in medical malpractice, serious personal injury and elder abuse.

Giving a boost to consumers

In addition to his sustained success representing consumers in Lemon Law cases, Norman Taylor has done much to empower the public in this area:

  • In 1991, he co-authored a book on the Lemon Law entitled, Lemon Law: A Manual for Consumers. It was the first book published on the subject in California.
  • In 2005, he authored and published Lemon Law: The Standard Reference Guide, which enjoys distribution and recognition nationally.

Both books, written professionally yet in plain language, have helped countless people to understand their rights. In fact, there was at least one automotive giant that used the book as a guide to administering California's lemon law claims.

Industry and Professional Recognitions

With numerous successful Lemon Law verdicts and settlements to his credit, Norman Taylor's name began to appear in stories in auto industry trade magazines as early as 1991, acknowledging his effectiveness on behalf of consumers.

As his firm's reputation continued to grow stronger, he received an invitation by the California Judicial Council in 2004 to assist in creating standardized jury instructions for Lemon Law cases in California, which have been codified in the CACI jury instructions manual.
