Hello Amanda,

Have your dealership also check the "low pressure fuel pump"..My dealership was great to take care of the high pressure issue and told me that the low pressure pumps are also failing but BMW will not cover this proactively. But at least they can check it proactively! If the low pressure pump goes out, they said it will fail the same way! Sucks because we buy BMW to avoid these problems! I do love my car otherwise...Sure fun to drive!

I bought a new '09 135i convertible in Feb '10. Yesterday, on July 14th, my car stalled and died on the interstate. I made a note of the 2 lights that came on and looked them up in the owner's manual. The car restarted after 10 minutes. I took my car to BMW today for service and was told I had to have my "high pressure fuel pump" replaced. I have 9,200 miles on my car and am now also concerned about a possible lemon. My last BMW was a '01 330i and never had any major problems. I am suppose to pick my car up tomorrow. Now that I have researched the internet, I have lots more questions when I arrive at the dealership.

Hello,
I own a 2010 535i with less than 5,000 miles (bought in February, manufactured in November) and pretty certain this is what happened to my car today and it had to be towed to the dealer after it shut off in the middle of busy Los Angeles traffic. I'm certain they'll call me in the morning and tell me this is the problem - do I have any recourse (they should buy it back) whatsoever given this is a first time event with the car? I am disgusted and was very curious this evening because I have never had a car break down on me in 27 years of driving so I found this problem for the care commonplace on the internet; however, it sounds surprising that my 2010 model has the problem.
