1. You have the “right” to permit our dealer to “fix
your head” instead of your car, so you never come back again.
2. You have the “right” to accept the explanation of “no
problem found” after our dealership drove your new car around the
block in a feigned effort to discover what was wrong.
3. You have the “right” to completely waste your time returning
your vehicle time and time again for the same problem(s) we cannot or
will not fix.
4. You have the “right” to blindly accept misinformation on
what your “lemon law” rights are from our dealerships or our 800 lines or arbitration boards.
5. You have the “right” to believe that after 18 months or
18,000 miles, you have no rights under the “lemon law”.
6. You have the “right” to assume that because your warranty
has expired and our dealers haven’t repaired your defects, you are
out of luck.
7. You have the “right” to waste the substantial investment
in your vehicle and learn to “cope”" with your problem.
8. You have the “right” to accept that you are stuck with a
vehicle you wouldn’t sell to your worst enemy because you have a
conscience.
9. You have the “right” to accept our dealership’s explanation
of “we don’t build them, we just sell them,” so please go away.
10. You have the “right” to believe to believe that we are
actually making a “goodwill” offer or “trade assist”
for you, all the while asserting you actually have no rights under the law.
11. You have the “right” to believe that “we designed
the vehicle to run like that”, when in fact it is a defect we cannot repair.
12. You have the “right” to believe that “we fixed all
the problems we could find.”
13. You have the “right” to believe “we can’t duplicate
your problem”, which really means that our dealer didn’t try
to find the problem because we don’t pay them very much to perform
warranty repairs on our behalf.
14. You have the “right” to believe that “engineering
is working on your problem and we will contact you when we have a fix
for it.”
15. You have the “right” to feel small and never return after
our dealer representative laughs in your face, or becomes indignant because
you complain that this is the 5th time you’ve had your vehicle in
the shop for the same problem.
16. You have the “right” to believe that you must go through
arbitration before pursuing your “lemon law” rights against us.
17. You have the “right” to believe that you are going to neutral
and objective forum, and that the law will actually be followed when submitting
to our arbitration program.
18. You have the “right” to believe that we actually care more
about customer satisfaction than we do this quarter’s shareholder report.
19. You have the “right” to believe that we actually care about
anything other than profit.
